Rippey Lions Club: The next Rippey Lions Club meeting will be on Thursday, Sept. 15, at the Rippey United Methodist Church. Community members are invited to the program at 7:45 with Ellen Johnston sharing about her experiences living and teaching in Taiwan, Nigeria and other countries. Baptism – Charles Lee Riley, son of Josh and Casey Riley of Dawson, was baptized Sunday, Sept. 4, in the Rippey United Methodist Church. Other family members witnessing the event were his sisters Lily and Lauren, grandparents Randy and Sharon Riley of Rippey, and his aunt Nicole Foertsch and uncle Scott Looft, both of Algona.

The members of the Bye Bye Blues met in the home of Doris Brown Sept. 8. As always, the ladies enjoyed visiting, reminiscing and sharing a laugh or two.
